How it all started
A joke turned into a dream
Sometime around 2021, two guys had an idea that there should be a National Holiday to celebrate Franks Red Hot and chicken wings. They joked around about it for a few years, and in 2023, decided to make that dream a reality. They thought it would be fun to have wing cook off with their friends, pairing it with beer and college football. What a perfect new holiday! Wing Fest was born!
First Winner of Wing Fest 2023
We did not expect a large turnout, but had 14 contestants and about 30 attendees/judges. Everyone had a blast and already started talking about year 2.
2nd Annual Wing Fest- The Scandal of 2024
The 2nd Annual Wing Fest was the most anticipated event of the year. It was also the most memorable. A contestant brought wings from a local restaurant- Q39, disguising them as his own. They were phenomenal and won first place. He confessed the next day, sending shockwaves through the wing world. Several months later, the trophy was presented to the rightful owner- Q39, where it sits on their competition BBQ trophy shelf to this very day.
3rd Annual Wing Fest- 2025
With the big scandal the previous year, there was a lot of talk and excitement leading up the 3rd Annual Wing Fest. Numbers grew every year, and we were up to over 30 contestants and 50 attendees/judges. The contestants stepped up their game. People perfected their recipes and tested their cooking methods all year to prepare for this one. No controversy this year, just great wings, great friends, good beer, college football and perfect weather!
4th Annual Wing Fest- 2026
Even a last-minute change of venue couldn't stop the momentum of Wing Fest 4. It was another spectacular, well attended event, celebrating friendships, college football, tasty beverages and of course, wings. The contestants really brought it this year- a lot of different flavors that made this one truly remarkable.
